This picture has been taken in an alleyway, in which all of the lighting for the subject is behind them, which creates a silhouette effect, this is the use of low key lighting, which is effective for shooting villains in films, or giving a spooky or dark atmosphere. The picture has been taken without us being able to control the lighting, so we have stood down an alley and adjusted our position until we got the right effect.
